I'm afraid your 'science education' was somewhat lacking, and you've been reading too many of the lies put out by big oil as a disinformation campaign. The Earth isn't cooling, it's warming, just because it was hotter once means nothing, there were no humans around then, in fact there were no animals around then, the environment wouldn't have supported them. If you think you could survive in a climate like existed at the dawn of the planet's evolution then you're misguided. A 12 year old has very little understanding of anything, I suggest you try reading some adult books, there are plenty about, one, titled 6 Degrees by Mark Lynas spells out in one degree increments what is happening and will happen. By the time you get to three degrees I assure you you will be scared, if you make it to six you will be terrified. But you don't want that, you want to carry on your life without a worry. So you won't, you'll shelter in your 12 year old mindset and refuse to accept what's staring you in the face.

The history of the Earth is full of completely natural shifts in temperature from one extreme to the other with every imaginable variation in between. This is just another of those shifts which will eventually correct itself, as natural history shows.
